Advantage General operates 11 branches across the island, which are managed by our highly experienced Branch Managers.

Yvonne Campbell-Dennis, Black River Branch
Yvonne Campbell-Dennis started her career in the general insurance industry in 1989. She worked at the then United General Insurance Company Ltd. (UGI) at the Duke Street Branch, where she spent seven years. Yvonne left to pursue studies after which she worked at Covenant Insurance Brokers for another seven years. It was in 2004 that she returned to UGl and now holds the position of Branch Officer at the Black River office. Yvonne’s career has spanned approximately 20 years in the general insurance industry with functional expertise in direct business, broker relationship and business generation.
Academically, Mrs. Campbell-Dennis has pursued and completed the Insurance Diploma at the College of Insurance & Professional Studies (CIPS). She has also completed an Associate Degree at the Northern Caribbean University (NCU) and is now working on complete her Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration at that institution.
Maureen Moss-Ferguson, May Pen Branch
Maureen Moss-Ferguson started her career with Guardian Insurance Brokers in 1986. She was later transferred to United General Insurance Company and has held several positions including Underwriter, Senior Underwriter, Superintendent and more recently Branch Manager.
Maureen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Studies and Masters Degree in Human Resource Management. She also holds the Insurance Diploma from the College of Insurance and Professional Studies and is pursing studies leading to the Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute certification.
Colleen Ten-Hue, Duke Street Branch
Colleen Ten-Hue joined the UGI family in 1987 as an Underwriter and since then, she has climbed the corporate ladder to the position of Branch Manager. She boasts twenty years experience in the general insurance industry, having worked at Jamaica Claims Bureau, Monteith Foreman Walker and Crawford Insurance Brokers Limited. In addition to being Branch Manager Collen functions as Trainer and Project Leader.
Colleen holds a Diploma in Insurance from the College of Insurance and Professional Studies and is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, where she is currently pursuing the Associate of Chartered Insurance Studies.
Merle Mobhair, Portmore Branch
Merle Mobhair began her career in the general insurance industry over thirty years ago when Advantage General was called Central Fire and General Insurance Company. She started with the company as a Clerk-Typist in the Motor Underwriting Department, and has steadily risen through the ranks. In 1992 she was promoted to the position of Branch Manager of the Duke Street Branch, a position she held until January 2007 when she moved to the Portmore Branch in the same position.
Merle holds a certificate from the College of Insurance and Professional Studies as well as a diploma from Durham Business School.
Vashti Young, Savanna-la-Mar Branch
In western Jamaica Vashti Young is known as the consummate insurance professional with customers placing their business in whichever location she is assigned. Mrs. Vashti Young started her career in insurance some twenty-five years ago holding positions such as Senior Clerk and Superintendent and is presently the Branch Manager of the Savanna-La-Mar Branch.
Mrs. Young holds a diploma and several certificates from the College of Insurance and Professional Studies and is presently in the advanced stages of reading for her ACII.
Margaret Harvey-Williams, Montego bay Branch
Margaret Harvey-Williams began her illustrious career in the general insurance industry twenty-nine years ago, and to date has held several senior management positions in Canada and Jamaica. Margaret is an adjunct faculty member of the College of Insurance and Professional Studies and has as Branch Manager she ensures that direction is provided in alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives. She is also heavily involved various social and civic organizations including membership in the Rotary Club.
Claude Henry, Mandeville and Christiana Branches
Claude Henry's recent appointment to the position of Branch Manager of the Mandeville branch represents another strategic move in the career of this veteran industry professional. With over 30 years experience in the general insurance industry, Claude has held senior positions at Motor Owners Mutual, Monteith General Insurance Brokers and British Caribbean Insurance Company (BCIC). He has also worked with TAB Insurance Agents in the capacity of Marketing Manager.
Claude’s educational background includes attendance at Waulgrove College and the College of Arts Science and Technology now University of Technology. He has also participated in several management courses at the Institute of Management and Production now The University of the Caribbean (UCC).
Bernice Lindsay, New Kingston Branch
Bernice Lindsay joined United General Insurance Company, now Advantage General, in July 2000, bringing with her a wealth of experience spanning some twenty years. Her initial posting was in the Underwriting Department in the capacity of Senior Underwriter. Within two years she was promoted to the position of Superintendent. In December 2006 she was transferred to the New Kingston Branch in the capacity of Acting Branch Manager.
Bernice has completed several certificate courses in various classes of insurance at the College of Insurance and Professional Studies and she holds an Associate degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Computer Management.
Yvonne Brown, Ocho Rios Branch
Yvonne Brown commenced her career in the general insurance industry in 1993 at American Home Assurance Company in the Commercial Lines Department as an Underwriter. She was soon promoted to Senior Underwriter. In 1997 she moved on to Allied Insurance Brokers where she held the position of Accounts Manager with responsibility for the accounts of the Grace Kennedy Group of Companies. In 1998, Yvonne moved to Covenant Insurance Brokers Limited where she held the position of Customer Service Supervisor for one year.
In 1999 she was offered the position of Branch Officer at United General Insurance Company now Advantage General Insurance Company. Her first posting was at the Port Antonio Branch and her most recent posting is at the Ocho Rios Branch as Branch Manager.
Sherlene Miller, Port Antonio Branch
Sherlene began her tenure with the Company in 1998 in a temporary capacity. Prior to joining the Company she had worked with other small businesses in the parish of Port Antonio.
Her first placement was as a Clerk at the Port Antonio Branch and she was subsequently appointed Underwriting Clerk. Sherlene has proven her ability to execute her job functions professionally and has made a positive impact on the staff in the branch and as a result of these qualities she was recently promoted to the position of Branch Officer.
Sherlene holds a Diploma in Insurance Studies from the College of Insurance and Professional Studies.
