Michael Lee-Chin, Chairman
Michael Lee-Chin is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AIC Limited and Chairman of Advantage General Insurance Company Limited.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the McMaster University in Canada and has over 20 years' experience in financial services, having founded AIC Limited, the largest privately owned Mutual Fund Management company in Canada.
Mr. Lee-Chin is listed by Forbes Magazine as one the world's 500 wealthiest people. He has received several prestigious awards in the areas of business and community service including the 2004 International Humanitarian Award from the American Friends of Jamaica.

Robert Almeida
Robert Almeida is the Executive Director of AIC Global Holdings Inc. He is responsible for AIC’s International Division which oversees a portfolio of businesses primarily focused on the Caribbean. He also serves as a member of AIC’s Investment Services Inc.’s Portfolio Management team where he co-manages the AIC Advantage Fund, and AIC Advantage II Fund.
Mr. Almeida has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Toronto, is a Chartered Accountant and has over 20 years experience as an investor and a business person, having worked in Canada, the USA and the Caribbean. He served as an executive at Loblaw Companies Limited, Canada’s largest retailer, where he was responsible for strategy and development and led Loblaw’s successful entry into financial services. As Senior Vice President at CIBC, Mr. Almeida served as Chairman of subsidiary Amicus Bank and President of President’s Choice Financial, the retail banking joint venture between Loblaw and CIBC.
John Bell
John ‘Mitchie’ Bell was educated at The Lodge School, Barbados and the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, from where he graduated with a B.Sc. Hons degree in Economics. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants of Great Britain and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.
He is a former partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was lead partner of the firm’s Financial Services Audit and Assurance practice for several years. He chairs the Audit & Compliance Committee and serves on the Conduct Review, Investment and Insurance Risk Committees of Advantage General. He is also a Director of NCB Capital Markets Limited, where he chairs several board committees.
Aubyn Hill
Aubyn Hill has over 30 years working experience in the private sector. He has been a senior executive and CEO in the banking and finance industry for more than 26 years.
During his 21 years as a banker in the middle east, Mr. Hill led the restructuring and turnaround of two major banks – Burgan Bank in Kuwait and the National Bank of Oman. During his two-year tenure as CEO the net profit of NCB moved from $317 million to $3.2 billion.
He has lived in eight countries in the Caribbean, North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East and has done business in about 85 different countries. Among Mr. Hill’s academic qualifications is an MBA from Harvard Business School, which he earned in 1978.
Shamena Khan
Shamena Khan has over 20 years collective experience in the financial services sector. She is responsible for operational restructuring of AIC’s portfolio companies in the Caribbean. Ms. Khan joined AIC Limited 10 years ago, after working with RPM Technologies Inc., where she consulted with Mutual Fund Companies and the Broker/ Dealer community. During the period of consulting, Ms. Khan was instrumental in restructuring several securities firm’s operations including Berkshire Investment Inc. and Berkshire Securities Inc.
She has also held several management positions with Canadian securities dealer, Richardson Greenshields of Canada Limited, where she spearheaded the development of the company’s sovereign investment programme (pooled Mutual funds subsequently bought by Russell Investments).
She joined AIC Limited as Manager Dealer Services and progressed to Vice President of Operations, AIC International and is now Managing Director AIC Global Holdings. Ms. Khan serves on the Conduct Review, Audit & Compliance and Investment committees of the board of Advantage General Insurance Company Ltd. She is a director of NCB Capital Markets Limited and serves on the Conduct Review, Audit & Compliance and Risk committees of the board of NCB Capital Markets Limited.
Donovan Lewis
Donovan Lewis is the founder of the Ideal Group of Companies which includes: Ideal Finance Corporation Limited, Ideal Portfolio Services Company Limited, Ideal Betting Company Limited and Donwis Limited.
In addition to being a Director of Advantage General, Mr. Lewis also serves as a Board Member for NCB Jamaica Limited, AIC (Barbados) Limited, NCB (Cayman) Limited, Central Finance Corporation Limited and PowerSun Corporation (operators of Golden Seas Beach Resorts).
David Williams
David Williams has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years, including serving in the capacity of President of the former Dyoll Insurance Company up to 1998 and on the Boards of the Insurance College of Jamaica and Jamaica Association of General Insurance Companies (now Insurance Association of Jamaica). He has done exploratory work in the development of business in US Virgin Islands and the South American market.
He currently manages his own business, Home and Garden Care, a general landscaping and property maintenance company, as well as offers insurance consultancy services.
Mr. Williams has studied both insurance and management, having received the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and AIM designation from the American Institute of Insurance. He has studied in Switzerland with the College operated by Swiss Re and has participated in management courses offered by Kelloggs University and the University of Berkley in the U.S.A.
He currently chairs the Conduct Review Committee and serves on the Investment, Insurance Risk and Audit and Compliance Committees of the Board. He is also a Director of Mutual Security Insurance Brokers Limited, Marksman Limited, RanMar Investments Limited and Home and Garden Care.
Mark McIntosh
Mark McIntosh is a Vice President of Portland Private Equity (the fund manager of the AIC Caribbean Fund).
Mark was formerly a consultant with McKinsey and Company in their Miami office and has also worked for Federated Department Stores, Holland and Knight, Freshfields Bruckhaus, Deringer, and Ford Motor Company.
Mark holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honors from Harvard College and a law degree from Harvard Law School. He is a member of the Florida Bar and the American Bar Association.
He leads the Portland Parish Titchfield Renewal Committee in Jamaica and is a Trustee of the Jamaica National Heritage Trust.
Mark Thompson, President & CEO
Mr. Thompson came to Advantage General Insurance with a distinguished background. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants; and has 14 years of progressive experience in Public Accounting, Investment Banking, Finance, Operations and General Business Management in prominent businesses including KPMG, World Gaming and Cable & Wireless in Canada and the Caribbean.
